Click “Add video” in the library, paste a YouTube URL, and the app fetches the title, thumbnail, and duration for a preview. Optionally pick a folder, then click “Add to library”. If the video is already in your library, MyYouNote warns you and offers to open the existing entry.

Everything is stored locally on your device — in a SQLite database for the desktop app (IndexedDB in the browser build). Nothing is uploaded anywhere: there are no accounts and no servers. See the privacy policy for details.

Go to Settings → Export & import. “Export data” saves your whole library (videos, notes, folders) as a JSON file wherever you choose. “Import data” restores from a previous export — note that importing replaces all current videos, notes, and folders.

The direct-download .dmg builds are not signed with an Apple developer certificate, so Gatekeeper shows a warning on first launch. To open the app anyway: right-click (or Control-click) the app → Open → Open, or allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security.

The Mac App Store version is signed and reviewed by Apple and shows no warning.

Same cause: the direct-download installer is not code-signed, so SmartScreen flags it as unrecognized. Click “More info” → “Run anyway” to proceed. Only do this for installers downloaded from this site or the official GitHub repository.

Go to Settings → Danger zone → “Clear all data”. This permanently deletes all videos, notes, and folders from your device and cannot be undone (export a backup first if unsure).

Uninstalling the app also removes its local database. Remember that any JSON exports you saved are separate files and must be deleted manually.
